The last day of the Coronation weekend and we were booked to play at the West Hoathly street celebrations. It was going to be a long day but West Hoathly have always looked after us well in the past so we anticipated a great afternoon. By Sunday everyone was looking at the weather forecast with a mixture of dread and worry. By the time we were due to start playing the forecast for rain was creeping up to 80 percent! (heavy Rain). Monday morning arrived and the forecast was the same. We arrived put up our gazebo ready to shelter from the impending deluge. There were a few spots of rain at 12 noon but then the sun crept out and as if the forecasters had underestimated the determination of west Hoathly and the band to enjoy a street party. The crowds grew and the band played to a very appreciative audience.
